The Benefits of COSTCO Installed Flooring Services

When we had a leak in our kitchen we filed an insurance claim and thankfully we were covered! The mitigation company needed to remove some flooring in our kitchen and so all of the flooring throughout the kitchen and into our sunroom was covered by insurance!

Upgrading our Floors!

If we included our bathroom and laundry closet we had 6 different types of flooring on our main floor–yes, 6! We had hardwood, two types of engineered hardwoods, luxury vinyl tile, ceramic tile, and linoleum. There were 4 transition pieces around the house because of all the different flooring thicknesses that my children tripped on regularly.

We decided that now was the perfect time to upgrade all the floors to have one flooring throughout!

We went to work on finding quotes on the type of product we knew we wanted—Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP).

Costco Installed Flooring Services

We have been members at Costco for 2 years now. There are many things that are an excellent deal there—and others, not so much. But, we are so glad to have discovered that they offer installed services, including flooring.

How it works

Costco works with Shaw and COREtec Floors for their installed flooring services. I filled out their online form and the next day the local installers called me.

We scheduled a time for someone to come out to bring us samples and to discuss the benefits of going through Costco.

There were a few samples we liked that he had with him and he was able to quote us immediately for the various types of LVP options we liked.

Benefits of Going Though Costco

1. Full Size Samples

Our local installers said that Costco allows them to order full-size samples for clients. We went on Shaw and COREtec’s websites and ordered every color/style we thought we might like and then it was here in just a couple days. They sent us about 2-3 full-size planks which really helps you to see the variation in the planks as well as seeing if the color and style is what you were hoping for. We did have a few samples that were back ordered in full sizes, but if you’re not in an immediate rush you could wait for them, or take a chance off smaller samples they’ll send instead. A few of the samples we ordered did come in smaller sample sizes but they sent 3-4 smaller sample sizes so that helped a lot.

I was able to move the samples around the house to see them in different lighting. I would say that these floors– COREtec Springfield Oak, look lighter in person than their website, and a bit lighter than these photos. It’s hard to get a the the true color on Camera.

2. 10% Back on a Costco Shop Card.

You get 10% back on the pre-tax total put on a Costco Shop card once the project is complete!

This is basically what sold it for us. This provided a huge amount of savings. Then, before we ordered our floors, they were offering 15% back for the month of August—yahoo!

3. You Get 2% Back if You’re an Executive Member

If you have the Executive membership you will also get an additional 2% back on the once a year check. You can also receive an additional 2% back if you have their Citi Costco credit card.

4. Lifetime Warranty

This is pretty self explanatory but this was another thing that sold us. Most contractors/flooring installers give somewhere between 1-5 years of labor warranty.

Some Hiccups

We had a few hiccups during the process you can read about here but the company is taking care of it all and we would definitely go through Costco again for our flooring needs in the future!
