Make sure to secure those kayaks in the cabin to prevent them from moving forward.

Otherwise all it takes is one sudden stop, and you’ll be shopping for a new windscreen.

Yep.

OP also says they fit four people in there, too. I don’t see how that happened safely, with seat belts for all.

Hopefully OP has a different insurer than me, otherwise, things like this are what make my rates go up.

The more you look…

I get if this was a one time “I have to move these” kind of thing, but if this is a regular occurrence, OP, it’s trailer time. A lightweight kayak trailer is easily towable with that.

I have a seinna, bought a trailer this year so I could fit my Bikes and Kayaks when I campground camp with the family.

The trailer is the way to go, I attached J racks to the frame of the trailer. So both my boats ride along the edge and still have the floor of the trailer to fill with gear. Today was my first trip to the river with it and it made the loading unloading so much easier. Best part backed it into the garage and the boats are still strapped in for next weekend. No unloading once you get home.

I have always used ratchet straps to transport my kayaks, you just have to know what you are doing.

You may want to look into anchoring that top boat by the front & back ends of the boat, downwards to your car. Any heavy breaking/accelerating, and this thing is going through someone else’s windshield.

It is anchored front and back with cam straps. You can see the front anchor in the photos and there is one on the back as well.

The kayaks are laying on the left side of the van. There are still two full size seats on the rear right side.

It comfortably seats four people like this, two up front and two in back in the seats on the right side.
