Like product but plastic bag packaging was inadequate to protect foam. It arrived with smashed sides. Haven’t had cold enough weather yet to try.

Easy to install, fits very flush to the wall and it works. We have up to -4 degree weather and it held up to it.

Was easy to put over the outside faucet and the foam padding conformed to the siding to create a nice “seal” around it.
No shut-off valves (!!) so I got these to protect from the frigid cold in the winter. They are easy to use – just put the cord around the faucet spigot and hold it in place against the house as you tighten the cord. Got two, and both are just as secure now as when I put them on in the fall.

Installing these took a bit of fiddling. Outdoor hose faucets often exit the house through a trim piece under the siding that may prevent the cover from seating firmly against the wall, leaving a gap for cold air. This was the case for all four of the faucets that I covered, and consequently, I had to cut pieces of styrofoam to fit between the wall and covers to fill these gaps. I tested the effectiveness of the covers early one morning when the temperature was 19 deg F. The external temperature (read with an infrared thermometer) was 8 to 12 degrees colder than the internal temperature (read with the probe of a Thermapen), so they do, in fact, provide some protection against freezing.

I thought these might not fit snug as my home has aluminum siding and the outdoor water spigot is placed on the high side of the piece of siding. I am pleasantly surprised that it fit well.

Purchased 2 of these for my external facuet. Unfortunately the image says it is 5.8inch, while correct, it doesn’t fit a facuet that is 5.8inch as there is foam interior that is not accounted for. Luckily I gave it to my parents and fit there’s but unfortunately not for myself even if I try to push the foam in. The gasket wasn’t held down properly and I had to superglue it myself.

Seems to work well. The synch cord is a great way to keep it firmly attached to the tap. I would like to see more foam on the lip though. If you have siding on your house it may leave gaps if the tap is between ridges. A thicker foam could help ensure you can seal gaps and provide a snug fit.

Have used product like this before and they are an easy way to protect exposed outdoor taps from freezing weather. Wouldn’t be without them when first free valves aren’t installed in old houses.
