For my purpose, it was excellent. The welds were clean and could be easily cut without penetrating too far into the base metal. The only negative I could say is there was a bit more surface rust on the interior than I was expecting. The tank is formed out of about 1/8″ thick steel, so it isn’t easily burned through when welding. The powder coat is a real pain to get off. I used stripper, then a wire wheel, then repeated a couple times. Seemed to work the best.
The tank has a Feb 2017 manufacture date, I suppose 5 months off isn’t too bad. I’m very happy about the gauge. Thumbs up, so far.
Can’t for the life of me figure out how the gauge works, but it is fairly accurate and appears identical to the one on my Worthington tank. On the first fill, it was about one gallon halfway up the yellow on the dial, about two gallons at the yellow/green transition, about three gallons halfway up the green and 4.2 gallons when full and the shutoff valve kicked in. About the same as the Worthington so I’m guessing consumption will be similarly reversed.

Wanted a spare tank and found this identical one at Costco in Orlando (early June 2016) with a sell price of about $26.00 plus tax. Great buy for a great tank.
Ace Hardware in my area fills them to 20 pounds, after doing the purge on a new tank, and charges $13.00 plus tax. A good deal.
All in all I like the safety assurance of owning my own tanks rather than taking the luck of the draw from 7-11 or the big box stores.
